Creating beautiful pin images and blog content is only one aspect to Pinterest marketing. It’s important to know how you content is performing on both the Pinterest platform and search feed a well as on your own website! Pinterest, like most platforms, is always evolving! After multiple visits to Pinterest headquarters, I’ve learned that they love to test new features and data to improve the platform. Sometimes these features don’t last and get retired (hello, Pinterest communities!), but sometimes they can be a really useful tool for the business owner on Pinterest!
In spring 2019, Pinterest introduced the new dashboard for analytics and I’m personally loving it! In the past, I almost completely ignored it, relying solely on Google Analytics to analyze Pinterest data (which is still an important thing to do!).
The new Pinterest dashboard has some really important features like:
- Link clinks compared to device (mobile, tablet, desktop)
- Comparing organic and paid (Promoted Pins) pins
- Link clicks to claimed accounts like Instagram and Youtube (learn how to claim them here).
- And more!
While it’s important to create beautiful pins and have an automation strategy, it’s crucial to know what is working and performing on the Pinterest platform. The new Pinterest analytics can help shed some light on your content!
In this video, I’m sharing some of the new features and how you can use this data to create better content for traffic-generating pins!
What do you think of the new dashboard (if you don’t have it yet, don’t panic! It should be rolled out to everyone by June 2019)? Let me know in the comments!

help I can not seem to find the basic page to be able to pin pins. I have the business hub that comes up. I have found it randomly yet can’t remember how. I miss pinning and I’m so frustrated.
Hi Sandra!
Yes, the hub home is odd! Look for your logo top right of the Pinterest page, click on it, and then click on your profile photo. 🙂 To add pins, you can also simply click on the ‘plus sign.’
