Are you using Tailwind Communities? Using Tailwind Communities, I received a 2.1 million reach in my first month of blogging. Find out how to get noticed on Pinterest with a small following using Tailwind Communities.
This post contains affiliate links, which means if you make a purchase from my link I may make a small commission at no cost to you. You can get more information about Typical Results of Tailwind for Pinterest Members.
What are Tailwind Communities?
If you’ve been following me on YouTube or reading my blog, you know that I simply adore Tailwind Communities. I describe them in detail here, but to summarize, Tailwind Communities are small niche-related groups that allow you to add your pins and schedule pins from others with the group. If you want the details of how I use Tailwind Communities every day with my clients or myself, click here. I share a lot of my strategies. You don’t need a huge following to get noticed on Pinterest.
Why are Tailwind Communities effective?
By joining Tailwind Communities, you are connecting with active Tailwind or Pinterest users who are interested in sharing high-quality related content on their boards. You can rapidly promote your latest product or blog posts as well as quickly find content to schedule into your Tailwind smart queue. It’s a win-win for all! Group boards on Pinterest are great, but this puts the new pin right in front of the face of the scheduler, therefore getting your content out quicker and leading to virality!
Tailwind issues a weekly summary of the re-shares, repins, and reach of my pins that I share with Communities. I have only been actively using Communities for less than a month now and check out the stats below:
How to get noticed on Pinterest with a small following using Tailwind Communities:
Did you read that correctly? My pins have had a total reach of 2.1 million impressions on Pinterest. I’m thrilled with the results. I only recently starting creating content for the blog and I don’t have a large following.
There are also other useful analytics, beyond numbers, that you can learn from Communities. Communities can show you:
- What types of content are popular within your niche (and repined at higher frequency)
- What types of visual elements are shared more often, for example, images with text or bright colorful or soft and muted palettes
- New content within your niche, for example, when I was one of the first to report using hashtags on Pinterest after my visit at Pinterest Headquarters.
Tailwind is a powerful tool I use every single day in my business for my clients. It maximizes my efforts by scheduling out pins at a regular rate as well as sharing content with active schedulers who are eager to fill their queue with niche related content. You can try Tailwind with my affiliate link and receive a free month of pins, but Communities are free to any user! More questions? I’ve got a few Tailwind posts below.

Hi Vanessa. Fantastic post! I’ve heard a little about Tailwind before but had no idea of tribes.
To give a little background, I’m wanting to blog about superhero like human achievement. Check out the movie “Limitless” to get an idea of what I mean. Subjects will revolve around physical and cognitive “super powers” using food, meditation, sleep, learning/thinking strategies…etc. Do you think that kind of broad subject would do well on Pinterest?
Imma start following you…
Hi Joseph, Thanks for stopping by! I think it’s an interesting idea, and at the very least, Pinterest will improve the overall SEO of your site. Pinterest at the moment, is primarily used by women, so I wouldn’t expect a huge return of traffic initially, but the platform is constantly changing.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you so much for the very useful information. It’s coming at the perfect time because I am trying to grow my blog with the use of Pinterest traffic and this post nails it. Thanks again!
Have an amazing day…
Karina,
I am so glad it was helpful! I love getting feedback like that. 🙂
Vanessa
I have been on Pinterest for a long time and just heard about Tailwind Tribes. I tried to click your link but it says it is no longer active. Could I still join this new tribe of yours?
Thanks!
Hi Kara!
Thanks for your comment- the link is active for me at http://bit.ly/CreativeEntrepreneurTribe, but if you can’t find it that way, once you join Tailwind, you can search for the tribe within tribes and request to join there! Thanks, Vanessa
Nice post and beautiful blog. Your post is going to help a lot. Thank you!
Thank you, Faraz!
This is really helpful! I have heard of Tailwind Tribes, but didn’t really understand what their purpose is, now I have a much better understanding of why I should be using them – thank you! xo
