A Year of Blogging About Pinterest
Like a long marathon, I am excited to announce I crossed the finish line on a big goal of mine! I started blogging about Pinterest marketing tips one year ago. My big goal was to blog weekly so that I could help creative small business craft traffic-generating Pinterest marketing strategies. With the exception of the week of Christmas, I did it!
It has been an exciting year of growth—consistent traffic from Pinterest, the surprising benefit of ranking on the first page of Google for a few posts (an important reminder to niche down), and visibility with other creatives as a Pinterest educator (though there are many talented individuals in this field).
As a blogger, I’ve learned a lot about dedication, productivity, and lastly, taking a discipline and turning it into habit. Writing weekly has been a great joy to me and something that I have a hard time giving up. It’s one of the things I look forward to creating every week.
Here’s a glimpse of my traffic from the beginning:
While the traffic has steadily risen, the last few months have brought opportunities to collaborate with creative entrepreneurs in my field. Much of that is from the consistent content and ‘know, like, trust’ that comes from educating on a certain subject.

Thanks for all the great info. By the way, I notice that at the end of the comment section, you have a checkbox for “Notify me of follow-up comments by email”. How were you able to incorporate that into your site? Is it a special plugin? If so, which one is it? I would really appreciate this help, since on my site, when I reply back to a comment, the original user has to go back to the post to see the reply comment. Thank you in advance. Have a great day! 🙂
Carmen,
That is a great question! I don’t really know. It’s probably a WP setting you have to click—maybe a quick Google query might give you the answer?
